Zenkaicon 2017

This year we went to Zenkaicon again, you can see my post from last year here. This time we went for Saturday and Sunday, and each day was equally as good!

-Saturday

I had to wake up early because it is a pretty long drive, and we had to pick up my friend on the way. My dad and I cosplayed as Military men from Fullmetal Alchemist. My friend went in his Steampunk costume. The first thing we went to was an Undertale panel. A bunch of people were in character and you got to ask them questions. It was pretty funny, but we left early because it was long. My friend and I played a video game in the video game room, then we headed over to a voice actor panel. They had some pretty well known people, especially among the video game community. We then went to a talk lecture about Studio Ghibli. It was really good. The guy talking about it was so interesting, and kept my attention the entire time. My friend went to go see a comic, while I got the autograph from the voice of the Sniper from TF2. After that we left. We had lunch somewhere in there, but I didn't want to bore you. Also we went to the vendors and got backpack pins.

-Sunday

I didn't have to wake up nearly as early. This time it was just my dad and me. We didn't cosplay this day. The first thing we went to was about the navy in anime. Afterwards we walked over to a Super Smash Brothers wrestling match. I wouldn't have gone over to watch it, but my dad said I have to watch wrestling at least once in my life. We went over to a lecture about Japan and America sharing ideas between them. It was done by the same guy who did the Studio Ghibli lecture. We then went to an Overwatch panel, which was really good. I got to ask a question which I really enjoyed. Because Overwatch is such a complex game, so it's nice to have things about the story cleared up. We then got back home. Again, I didn't want to bore you with the details of lunch and the vendor area.

Thank you for posting about this. I had a lot of fun sharing this with you and I learned about a lot of really fun manga and anime. It was also really cool to take you to learn more about Japanese culture. Those panels on Miyasaki and the cultural sharing were really interesting.

And now I need to get "YA-MA-TOOOOOOO" out of my head.

I love these posts, because I get to hear even more about your experience. You tell me all about it when you get home, but reading what you write fills in even more details for me and it's fun to see. I love seeing you so happy. And Daddy is awesome for dressing up with you. You two are so cool. My boys!

Cool pictures! Somehow I didn't realize the people at the Undertale panel were in costume and character and everything. That's super neat.

Wow! You're super lucky, and it sounds like you had an amazing time. You and your dad's cosplays look great! The steampunk is sweet too. Much to my embarrassment, I haven't actually watched any Miyasaki. However, the Undertale panel and the lectures sounded like they were very entertaining and interesting.
