Yu-Gi-Oh!

The other day, I went to a Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament. I was one of the players to get last place. When I got home, I went on to an online Yu-Gi-Oh! game. I found a bunch of cards I liked called Ghostricks. I have been working on a Ghostrick deck ever since. When I am all finished with my Ghostrick deck, I am going to go back to the tournament and try again! I had so much fun the first time. I met some really nice people who gave me tips.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is a trading card game made in Japan. In the game, you are trying to play monsters, spells, and traps to eventually destroy your opponent. It is my all-time favorite game. I don't really have anyone to play with near me, so that is why I have been wanting to go to a tournament. Like I said, I was so happy to go. I think I have a good chance of winning if I go back.

A Little Story

For school, I have to write a short story about something random. We have this book called Silly Story Starters. You flip 3 pages, and it tells you a story to write. So, I have to write a silly story about a monkey that is always crabby.

Once upon a time, there was a monkey. The monkey hated his owners. Well, he hated everything.

(Dramatic Theme Song)

One day the monkey was going about his normal day and he tripped over one of his toys. He ran over to his owners and said, "Gee guys, you could have killed me!"

Of course, they don't speak monkey, so it just sounded like, "Oo oo ah ah."

They shrugged their shoulders and walked off chuckling to themselves. The monkey got so mad that he ran outside, slammed the door, took their car keys, and drove off.

3 Hours Later

He drove to a beach. It had sand. The monkey had never seen sand before. He walked over to a random family on the beach and announced, "I AM CRABBY!"

It just sounded like, "Oo Oo Ah." The family smiled and took pictures. The monkey ran, and sat by the water. A crab came over and said, "You are crabby, but I am the crabbiest."

The One and Only Ivan

picture from Amazon.com

I read The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. It is about a gorilla who lives in a shopping mall. The book is kind of like a journal; that is part of the reason I liked it so much. It is told from Ivan's perspective as he tries to understand the world around him. He is friends with a homeless dog named Bob, an elephant named Stella, and a human named Julia. He doesn't know much about the wild or how to act like a real gorilla, but he must learn because when a baby elephant named Ruby arrives and he must help her.

I would give this book

because it was funny, touching, and really easy to understand.
